What do our programs offer?
Our programs are designed to offer all the advantages listed above. Modular in construction they may be used in a variety of ways. These include:

• View the main content as a presentation with a narrator guiding you through the key points. This is similar to attending a lecture but has the distinct advantage that it can be paused at any time. No longer does that slight lapse of concentration mean that you missed some key point. Now you can pause it, review anything that you didn't quite understand or think you missed, grab a coffee and then continue from where you left off.
• "Dip in" and locate information of specific interest. A search facility is particularly helpful since words or phrases can be located in context. Cross-references are providing allowing swift navigation to related topics within the programs
• Use the quiz to assess your knowledge
• View video case studies that illustrate operative techniques and clinical scenarios
• Record your own notes using the Notes facility for future reference
• Print out key information

Their flexibility of operation is complemented by the following additional features:

• Optional verifiable module at modest cost. Our titles offer one of the most cost effective and enjoyable ways of accumulating verifiable CPD hours
• Access to registered users to our electronic CPD forum. This enables you to provide us with feedback and discuss topics of related interest with other practitioners. It is open only to registered users so discussions remain focused.
• Updates and related information are added to this site
• Whilst our programs are true multimedia titles, if you do not have a sound card or your computer is a little long in the tooth (pun intended) you will still derive much from them. The autopilot function is disabled if there is no sound facility and the videos may not play well, but the reference, quiz and links modules are fully functional.

All these benefits count for nothing if the content is of doubtful validity. The content for all our programs is provided by subject experts and the programs go through an extensive independent peer-review procedure prior to publication. Our evaluation results confirm that the programs do indeed meet their aims and objectives; please see the individual product pages for some of the comments made by the evaluators.

Aside from evaluation by the profession, our titles have also received important recognition from the audio-visual industry. "The Last Post" has just been selected as one of four finalists for the title "Interactive Media Project of the Year 2002" in the AV Awards 2002.

The programs are not currently available online because we do not consider that the technology behind the Internet and in particular the World Wide Web is at an appropriate state of development to provide an experience either equivalent to or better than CD-ROM at an affordable price. We have included some example videos on this site to give an indication of the content of the titles, but you will see that the quality is far from that which can be achieved from videotape, DVD and CD-ROM.

This will of course change particularly with the advent of high speed (broadband) Internet access and we are keeping abreast with these development. Our titles will be available online, just not quite yet.

However, updates will be made available here in the respective sections, and registered users can join our CPD mailing list to discuss CPD titles with other practitioners.
